New Pattern & Giveaway!

Thanks to my little man taking an AWESOME morning nap, what I had intended as a WIP Wednesday post is now a Wednesday-Finish post!

Since I've been finding myself with less sewing time lately, I've been spending more of my time working on smaller projects, like table toppers, that finish quickly for {almost} instant gratification!  Today, I'm happy to launch my monthly Table Topper patterns!  Here's how it'll work:

  • During the first week of each month, the pattern for the following month will be released.  They'll be available both through Etsy and through Craftsy (at a slightly discounted rate) indefinitely.  Kits will be available through Etsy, while supplies last.
  • The patterns are all Charm Square (5") friendly and the toppers finish somewhere around 40" x 10"!  You'll just need a little bit of background fabric and binding.
  • All patterns will be $3.99 each - but if you buy three, I'll throw a fourth one in free!!  You don't have to buy them all at the same time.  Just drop me a line after you've purchased three, and I'll email you the Table Topper pattern (from the monthly collection only) of your choice.
  • Each month we'll have some sort of contest or giveaway to celebrate!
So, without further ado, I'd like to introduce:

Regatta Gala Table Runner ~ July 2012

I wanted to have a table runner that was festive enough to have as a center piece for our Fourth of July BBQ, yet subtle enough to leave out for the rest of the month without being too passe!  Since all the men in my family are sailors, regatta flags seemed to fit the bill perfectly!

My sample was made with Smooth Sailing by Jenni Calo for Connecting Threads, with a few of CT's Quilter's Candy prints thrown in for good measure.  Finished size is 40.5" x 10.5"

For this pattern, you'll need:
  • 24 - 5" Charm Squares
  • 1/3 yard White background fabric
  • 1/4 yard striped fabric for binding
  • Backing and Batting
Patterns are available for purchase from Etsy (by email) and from Craftsy (for immediate download).

I currently have 5 sets of 24 Charm Squares in the same prints used in the sample available from Etsy as well. Each set is $3.50 + shipping.

Regatta Gala Contest & Giveaway!
  • Giveaway: For a free .pdf copy of the pattern, plus a Regatta Gala kit (including charm squares, background fabric, and binding), leave a comment below about any favorite summer-time indulgence or leave answer to the bonus question below!  Only one comment per person will be counted.  Giveaway closes at 11:59pm PST on Thursday, 6/14/12 and the winner will be announced on Friday morning.  US entries only, please!
  • The Contest is now closed! Julie @ Wanna-Be-Quilter was spot on!  The title of the pattern comes from one of my ultimate TV shows - Friends. Specifically, the episode titled, "The One Where Ross Moves In."  Rachel is trying to impress the new guy in the building, but when he invites her and Monica to a last minute party, Rachel invents a Regatta Gala that she has to attend, in order to avoid seeming too available.  What kind of Regatta Gala starts at night?  "The fake kind" - Monica.  Thanks for playing!

Oh, I really like that pattern! Fantastic job!

My summertime indulgence is reading while camping. I love it when I can find a little quiet time to sneak in some pages from a current book.

That quote is from FRIENDS.....it's the FAKE kind! :) Love that show!!!

What a cute table runner! The colors are perfect! I'd love to win the giveaway. My summer indulgence is sleeping until 8 instead of getting up at 6.
